Nanotubes on the loose!

A workable display using carbon nanotube transistor arrays. (via the Blogfather) Your Humble Snarkatron once attempted to build a prototype nanotube display years ago, when nanotubes were still the wild frontier. It even worked, for a few seconds. It is nice to see some commercial applications finally coming forward. Nanotubes are very cool.

Now researchers at the University of Southern California have demonstrated large, functional arrays of transistors made using simple methods from batches of carbon nanotubes that are relatively impure.

That explains why yours didn't last long -- your mind wasn't in the gutter. Geez, *I* shoulda been a research scientist. Oh, the breakthroughs...
