I blame Global Warming

That hard landing of a 777 in London back in January? Apparently caused by ice in the fuel lines. "Unusually cold weather" blamed. Gee, wonder how that happened? The Boeing 777 has been in service for 13 years, and this is the first time the issue has shown up. Sure am glad the planet is overheating so this won't happen again.

Ice won't form in the fuel lines unless there's *water* in the fuel -- and that's why aircraft manufacturers put drain sumps in the fuel tanks.

Either somebody didn't test the fuel in the storage tanks using AquaGlo before it went into the fuel truck -- *as required*, or nobody drained the sump in the fuel truck -- *as required*, or nobody drained the sumps in the aircraft -- *as required*...
